The Beatles Make It To iTunes
Apple has announced the release of the Beatles on iTunes.
It has been described by Apple chief executive, Steve Jobs, as “a long and winding road”.
Until now the Beatles songs had been banned for distribution on the internet.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the surviving members of the band, have welcomed the release of the Beatles music on iTunes.
Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, the widows of John Lennon and George Harrison, have also expressed their approval of the release.
Yoko Ono said in a statement that “in the joyful spirit of Give Peace A Chance, I think it is so appropriate that we are doing this on John’s 70th birthday year”.
I grew up listening to the Beatles.
I have many of their albums, and they were one of the bands that inspired me to learn the guitar.
