Film Maker Dino De Laurentiis Passes Away

Italian born film maker Dino De Laurentiis passed away on the 10th of November aged 91.

De Laurentiis is a Hollywood icon that gave Arnold Schwarzeneggar his big break in “Conan the Barbarian” (1982).

De Laurentiis started his career in Italy, firstly as an actor then as a producer.

His first success was “Riso Amaro” (Bitter Rice, 1949).

Later in the 70’s he produced the re-make of “King Kong” (1976), “Serpico” (1973) starring Al Pacino, “Death Wish” (1974) starring Charles Bronson, and “The Shootist” (1976) starring John Wayne.

In the 80’s he made several adaptions of Stephen King novels.

Schwarzeneggar said in a statement that “Dino always treated me like a son…” and that Dino taught him the importance of having “balls”.

Seems like words to live by.
