Paris Hilton Denied Entry Into Japan
Paris Hilton (29), American socialite and heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, was denied entry into Japan.
On Tuesday (Sep 21) she came to Tokyo on a chartered flight but was detained at immigration.
As I said in an earlier blog entry, Hilton was arrested in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago for cocaine possession.
She was in a Las Vegas court last week facing a possibility of 4 years in prison for cocaine possession.
But Hilton and her lawyers made an agreement with the court which resulted in her being fined and getting a 1 year suspended sentence.
She came to Tokyo for a fashion event in Roppongi but was detained and questioned at the airport.
Eventually immigration officers decided to refuse Hilton entry.
Japanese law enables immigration authorities to deny entry to people convicted of drug offences.
The fashion event was cancelled.
